What makes your product stand out compared to Diffit AI?
Key Differentiators:
-Full-Spectrum Language Learning vs. Text Simplification: Diffit AI specializes in adjusting the reading level of existing texts for classroom use. The Mimir provides a complete language learning experience — including video-based lessons, AI-generated vocabulary and grammar support, interactive reading, and real-time speaking practice.
-Speaking and Conversation Practice: Diffit does not support spoken language development. The Mimir is speech-centric, offering learners opportunities to engage in structured speaking activities, debates, and peer discussions, with real-time feedback.
-Personalized Learning Paths: Diffit simplifies materials for general differentiation. The Mimir uses AI (like RAG models) to deliver level-appropriate content across media types, dynamically adjusting based on a user’s progress, interests, and skill gaps.
-Teacher Customization Across Modalities: Diffit focuses on texts. Mimir lets teachers customize videos, readings, and speaking tasks, and even co-develop full units aligned to their curriculum with the support of a Language Director.
-Community and Peer Engagement: Diffit is primarily a teacher tool for individual content adaptation. The Mimir builds a learning community, encouraging learners to collaborate, speak, and grow together — a key to achieving real-world language fluency.
In short, Diffit helps you differentiate text. The Mimir helps learners truly communicate — by integrating reading, watching, and speaking into one powerful, personalized system.
Will educators be able to share their content publicly with other teachers?
1. Publish their custom videos, readings, and speaking activities for others to use.
2. Access a growing library of peer-created resources, alongside Mimir’s AI-generated and expert-reviewed content.
How are conversations between students on your platforms moderated to make sure they don’t say anything inappropriate to each other?
Most student interactions happen within guided speaking tasks (e.g., debates, discussions, or role plays), which come with clear prompts, vocabulary supports, and behavioral guidelines—limiting the chances of conversations going off-track.
2. Teacher and Admin Controls
Teachers can join, observe, or replay conversations as needed. They have the ability to restrict speaking features to certain students, assign roles, or remove access if expectations aren’t met.
Does your app go beyond lesson planning and help teachers with unit design, i.e. sequencing lessons, creating assessments, recycling content, etc.?
Teachers can organize content into multi-lesson units that build from input (watching/reading) to output (speaking/writing).
The platform supports scaffolding, allowing learners to revisit concepts through increasingly complex tasks.
2. Assessment Creation & Integration
Teachers can embed formative and summative assessments using built-in tools (quizzes, flip-cards, customized worksheets etc).
3. Recycling & Spiraling Content
Content can be recycled across units, with vocabulary and grammar elements automatically tagged and reused in new contexts.
4. Teacher Collaboration with Curriculum Designers
Teachers can work directly with our Language Director to co-create units that align with their school’s goals or standards.
We also provide sample units and templates to guide planning, especially for teachers new to proficiency-based instruction.
5. Customizable Pathways

This approach ensures that learners aren’t just watching videos — they’re actively building skills, supported by research-based teaching methods.
If your app uses commercial AI APIs, how can we protect sensitive student data?
Minimal Data Collection: We collect only the essentials — just the user’s email. On our backend, each user is assigned a unique ID to ensure they remain non-identifiable, even during API interactions.
Strict School-Controlled Integration: When partnering with school districts, we follow an integration process that gives schools full control over the data they share with us. No additional data is collected without their approval.
Strong Privacy Policies: Our privacy policies are designed to meet strict education data protection standards. We do not send personally identifiable information to AI services, and no student data is ever used for training third-party models.
In short, we prioritize data minimization, anonymization, and school oversight to ensure that all AI-enhanced features are safe and compliant.
