ABSTRACT

Throughout this presentation, the state of Kyrgyzstan and Russia’s respective HIV epidemics will be compared. There are five methods by which the progress of HIV is tracked today. The method by which Kyrgyzstan and Russia’s HIV epidemics will be compared is based upon their respective new HIV infection rates. In 2018, Science Magazine published a new study that indicates that Russia has one of the highest new infection rates, if not the highest, in the world. Kyrgyzstan, on the other hand, has taken measures to reduce new infections and has one of the lowest rates in Eastern Europe/Central Asia.
