Finding Community Abroad

The Russian Flagship is pleased to announce a program to help students engage with finding community while abroad.

The goal of this program is to create a Guidebook for those heading abroad to Russian-speaking areas on ways to find community abroad and engage in hobbies while being immersed in a different culture.

Watch last year’s presentation and panel of students who have recently been to Kazakhstan and successfully found their own sense of community while there! Plus, hear from Cindy Martin, Associate Professor of Russian and Russian Program Head at the University of Maryland, about how to make the best of your time abroad with her talk on “Общение по интересам!”. This event was conducted in Russian with English language interpretation available for lower-level students.

The event is only open to students at colleges and universities with a Russian Flagship program.
