Duration: 43 mins

Presented by Nahal Akbari

In this presentation, Dr. Akbari shares the experience of a series of workshops in which Persian Flagship students worked with a graphic design artist to create short animation videos as group projects. Students selected stories from classical Persian literature, folk tales, proverbs, etc., and learned from the artist how to create storyboards for short animations using stop-motion, cut out animation, and other techniques and specialized software. These projects can be conducted in-person or online, and provide students with rich opportunities to learn a new skill, create a product, engage in authentic conversations around art, culture, and literature while completing the project, and participate in a highly engaging learning community.
